Singing Dead

As the wheel of the year rolls around towards winter, many traditions honor their ancestors through festivities and ceremony. Join us in an exploration of song in honor of our ancestors and our grief for the world.  The weekend will revolve around song sharing and the spiral of the Work that Reconnects.

You will be coming to a sanctuary of Redwoods, Oaks, Barred Owls and Bear. The song of the natural world will envelope you and inspire. Come and share in our communal well-being and remembrance of the commonalities of our shared humanity.

The weekend will be facilitated by Abeja Hummel, with everyone encouraged to teach songs and tell stories. On Friday evening, Nov 2, we will come together for an “Ancestor Feast”. This is a time to honoring our ancestors and those who have passed through food, story and song.

All are welcome to come for just the Ancestor Feast on Friday night at no cost. Because of the nature of the work, we request that anyone who wants to come for Saturday and Sunday commit to being here the full time. We will close our circle by 4pm on Sunday so that people can get home. We will cap the size of the circle at 15 to keep it an intimate group.

The cost of the full weekend is $120. This covers:

  • Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner Saturday and Breakfast and Lunch Sunday (Friday night is a potluck Ancestor Feast)
  • Camping or indoor floor space in the common building
  • Hot showers, hot tub, and sauna!

There are a few houses with beds that will be available for a small extra cost.
